Actively drives productivity improvement programs, encompassing every aspect of the manufacturing process, from raw material to finished goods Works with teams to select optimum manufacturing methods and sequence of operations to produce high quality products at the lowest cost Initiates all of the manufacturing principles of Lean Manufacturing Insures that safety and ergonomic considerations are implemented through equipment, process and plant layout Continuous improvement activities related to inventory reduction, working capital turnover and complexity management Prepares program cost estimates for equipment requirements Prepares capital expenditure justifications for production equipment Understands and be able to guide/coach teams on a wide range of process improvement tools to identify and eliminate waste Orders and manages the construction of primary and auxiliary equipment Performs manufacturing capability studies for new equipment Coordinates the installation and start-up of production equipment and required auxiliary equipment Supports multi-discipline product teams.
