Bridge Engineer
Client is actively
looking for a UAE experienced Bridge Engineer for 2 new projects in the UAE.
The projects will last for a minimum of 2.5 years with opportunity 039 s after
that. The project Engineer will perform engineering duties such as planning
designing and overseeing construction and maintenance of facilities such as
roads bridges and utilities.
They are looking for a Civil Engineer with 10 years experience.
This is a very hands on position which requires a 039 foreman 039 type attitude and someone who is able to work in collaboration with a team.
Main responsibilities
Analyze survey reports maps drawings blueprints aerial photography or other topographical or geologic data.
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
Estimate quantities and cost of materials equipment or labour to determine project feasibility.
Provide technical advice to industrial or managerial personnel regarding design construction or program modifications or structural repairs.
Compute load and grade requirements water flow rates or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems or structures using computer assisted design or drawing tools.
Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points grades or elevations to guide construction.
Design energy efficient or environmentally sound civil structures.
Direct engineering activities ensuring compliance with environmental safety or other governmental regulations.
Manage and direct the construction operations or maintenance activities at project site.
Prepare or present public reports on topics such as bid proposals deeds environmental impact statements or property and right of way descriptions.
Test soils or materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations concrete asphalt or steel.
Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact.
Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for civil engineering projects.
Develop or implement engineering solutions to clean up industrial accidents or other contaminated sites

responsibilities
The consultant will
work under the overall guidance and the direct supervision of the UNFPA
Assistant Representative. He She will work closely with the International
Consultant and the National Survey Coordinator to provide technical support to
the national survey team and EmONC Assessment team before during and after the
survey period to ensure timely and quality implementation of the survey
activities including the preparations and report finalization and to ensure the
implementation is in accordance to the International Standard and in line with
the agreed upon Detailed Operational Plan. In brief the national consultant
should do the following
- EmONC Survey
- Review the available national guidelines and protocols including review of the National RH policy and the health facilities standards and norms and should use these documents in adapting the questionnaire and identifying the levels of service delivery.
- Work with UNFPA RH team and the FMoH to develop the survey concept paper including the methodology and budget breakdown and also the TORs of the international consultant. The national consultant should also work with the FMoH to develop the action plan of the survey.
- Develop an updated list of all hospitals in the country by state and develop a tentative routing of visits to facilities in each state. nbsp This should be revised with each team during the training sessions. nbsp
- Provide technical support to the national survey team to insure that the survey methodology is properly applied. nbsp
- Ensure that logistics for field work are taken care of nbsp that each team has a sufficient number of clean questionnaires clipboards pencils per diems letters of introduction SIM cards etc. nbsp Ensure involvement of stakeholders other UN agencies Society of Ob Gyne others .
- Ensure quality of the data ndash that envelopes are complete before delivering the completed questionnaires for data entry. nbsp There should be an envelope large enough to hold all survey modules. nbsp The envelope should be labelled with State Locality and facility name. nbsp At all times the modules should be kept in their envelopes so they will not become separated and lost.
- Contact team supervisors on a regular basis to monitor progress and help resolve technical or logistical issues.
- Track completion rate of facilities in each state and work with UN field offices presence should some teams fall behind or others finish more quickly than expected.
- Make some field visits to supervise especially if weak teams are identified.
- Compile a report of supervisors rsquo logs regarding challenges they faced problems resolved incidents or facility stories that would be of interest to the survey and its organizers.
- The consultant should supervise the data entry process at federal level and work closely with the data analyst to ensure that the analysis output is in line with the survey template.
- Provide technical support on the final survey report writing.
- The consultant should work closely with the national survey coordinator to ensure that the implementation is in accordance to the agreed Detailed Operational Plan and insure timely availability of adequate supporting documents for financial clearance. nbsp
- Provide support to the national survey team on preparation for presenting the final survey result on.

Program Summary

The program focuses on building the capacity of NGOs and citizens to identify stressors in communities particularly those affecting community cohesion and to increase the efforts of citizens and NGOs to engage with government to jointly develop and implement solutions to address those challenges. The program is comprised of three primary components 1 Expand NGO community organization professional association and government efforts to build resilience and address cohesion related challenges 2 Increase civil society government private sector cooperation in building resilience and addressing cohesion related challenges and 3 Strengthen skills and build other capacity relevant to community and national cohesion.
USAID CEP will be implemented in specific communities located in the following four
governorates Irbid Mafraq Tafileh and Ma'an. There will be a field office located in each
governorate where most of the program staff will be located. There will also be an office in
Amman that will provide overall program management and administrative technical and

- Assisting the senior translator in translating grants applications reports documents and varied deliverables from Arabic to English and vice versa.

Qualifications
- BA Degree in English Language Translation Literature or any related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a translation position freelance work applicable .
- Excellent command of the English and Arabic languages written and spoken.
- Previous experience with a developmental organization or NGO is a plus.

THE JOB Under the direct supervision of the Technical Officer and the management of the Project Manager the Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the TO and the PM in the implementation progress monitoring and reporting of the project Fostering Inclusive Employment and promoting the advancement of equitable opportunities for Persons with Disabilities implemented by HI partners organizations. The Project Assistant is expected to share his her time between fieldwork activity implementation and office work for project support. Main tasks will include Project activities Implementation Support the Technical Officer in the process of identification of PwDs to benefit from job placements and internships. Support the technical officer in identification of companies and meeting other stakeholders based on the needs of the project. Support the technical officer in the preparation and implementation of the training sessions and raising awareness for employers. Support the technical officer in the preparation and implementation of trainings for the DPOs. Support the technical officer in the preparation of PWDs for job placements through training sessions and guidance. Support the technical officer in the conduction of the accessibility assessment for employer. Support the technical officer and the employers disability committee focal point in developing inclusive action plan. Support preparation of HI and partners payment authorizations of the project. Compile monthly spending forecasts from PM and project team and review them with PM. Act as key support and contact between Project team members and support services in Gaza. Follow up with Logistics Assistant all project purchases and deliveries. Assist the PM in monitoring the project budget and follow up the expenses by HI in Gaza. Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting Track project deliverables using appropriate project tools Follow up and compile necessary data for monitoring of the project as advised by the PM Support project team to ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with project indicators defined Conduct regular field monitoring for project activities. Support Technical Officer in the co ordination between all the projects internal and external interfaces. Compile statistical reports from the field on monthly basis analyse and share with PM. Submit monthly project activity report statistical and narrative to the PM in respect to the project reporting validated formats based on HI activity updates. Support the PM in collecting and compiling all data needed to draft donor reports Quarterly Mid term final report and preparation of reports annexes. Participate in analysing lessons learned on the projects experience gained from implementation. Support in project evaluation as defined by PM. Administrative Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Education Administration Manager this position provides high level administrative support to the Office of the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and CPD and to the medical education senior administrators. The incumbent is responsible for a wide variety of tasks and projects that will require a high degree of professionalism and use of judgment. The incumbent will also be expected to work fairly autonomously and be able to problem solve and handle ad hoc business requests as required.
POSITION ACTIVITIES
1. Event and Calendar Management Responsible for the development and maintenance of a centralized calendar to manage the operational functions of the division. Co ordinates the planning and logistics for divisional events. Organizes appointments group meetings and conference calls.
2. Fiscal Reporting and Analysis Generates various fiscal reports for analysis and distribution. Assists with identifying and resolving discrepancies with actual expenses and reporting. Co ordinates the development of new fiscal data spreadsheets and the continuous monitoring of expenses. As required initiates shopping carts ensuring compliance with WCM Q financial policies and procedures.
3. Policies and Procedures Is responsible for maintaining and updating a catalogue of SOPs and policies and procedures relating to the educational and operational functions of the Division of Medical Education. Assists with the development of the SOPs and policies and procedures including seeking out information to inform best practice.
4. Committee Administration Is responsible for maintaining the terms of reference and membership lists for divisional committees and generates appointment letters. As required compiles and distributes agendas and materials and records and transcribes minutes of meetings.
5. Awards Administration Responsible for maintaining the records for the annual teaching and Senior Honors Convocation awards. Co ordinates the awards administration and selection process.
6. Provides word processing spreadsheet and presentation software services including drafting routine correspondence and collates information and prepares reports for ad hoc projects as required.
7. Assists with the development and maintenance of a divisional electronic filing system and a records retention database. Also assists with the maintenance of the online academic leave management system and co ordinates processing of leave requests.
8. Co ordinates the exam ordering process for the National Board of Medical Examiners NBME exams and provides score reports to curriculum Deans and Staff as required. Acts as Chief Proctor for the exams as required.
9. Prepares itineraries and coordinates the arrangements for ad hoc visitors.
10. Provides support to the Office of the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and CPD and for other divisional activities and projects. Maintains strict confidentiality and security of all exam student and faculty related information. Performs other duties as assigned or required
