• Works with direct supervisor to identify and establish medium to short
term priorities and targets, in line with the QM's policies and
guidelines and ensures their successful execution.
• Executes procedural review to identify areas of improvement within own function and recommends changes leading to best-practice operations
• Takes corrective actions where necessary and produces regular reports with analysis and comment on performance and results.
• Ensures proper registration & storage of artefacts from the museum's collections in the collection management system.
• Create and maintain paper and electronic records for object, archives, and audio-visual media collection, including acquisition, accession, provenance, location, and other records.
• Maintains archival records organization and develops classification systems to facilitate access to archival materials
• Defines archival records standards and composes concise description of objects for collection management database, to allow easy access to information.
• Inputs and updates collection data in collection database, as needed.
• Provides and creates database searches and reports as needed by all museum departments.
• Promotes remote access to documents by maintaining user-friendly, computer-aided search systems
• Consults with end users regarding problems in accessing electronic content and implements appropriate solutions
• Recommends improvements in recordkeeping procedures to achieve maximum accessibility, and efficient retrieval of collection objects
• Assists in the routine care and maintenance of object storage areas, ensuring the security of collections
• Arranges access to the collection for Sports Museum staff and visiting scholars.
• Responds to research inquiries and other requests from institutions and the public.
• Manages and assists in selected special projects and performs other related duties, as assigned.
• Motivates staff and empowers direct reports by providing the necessary tools and support required to meet business goals
• Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, to stoop, to reach, to bend at waist.
