Women are at the heart of our community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of disease, and increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. We also deliver emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and help people rebuild their lives. In the fiscal year 2014, CARE worked in 90 countries around the world, supporting 880 poverty-fighting development and humanitarian aid projects to reach more than 72 million people.
