General Manager for Algeria Affiliate
Novo Nordisk is looking for a General Manager who will create and develop business strategy manage the organization amp performance in Algeria and will be responsible of establishing longlasting relationships with external stakeholders authorities and customers. We are looking for an inspirational leader who understands our key mission of Changing Diabetes ® and Changing Possibilities in Haemophilia ® .
About the unit
Algeria is one of the top 15 global markets for Novo Nordisk and among the Top 3 markets for International Operations. Novo Nordisk in Algeria is a market leader within diabetes and has a diverse portfolio of insulins amp Oral preparations for the treatment of diabetes besides products for the treatment of hemophilia amp growth disorders. Algeria has its own production facility and distribution set up among the value chain that includes Sales Marketing Medical Clinical Regulatory Quality People amp Organization Finance IT and Legal. Algeria affiliate employs over 470 employees and is among the top 5 pharma companies in Algeria.
The Management Team consists of 8 head of departments with different backgrounds. Our main objective is to ensure we have the Best People and the Best Organization in place to ensure a Better Access to Care for our Patients and continued growth of our Business.
The job
As a General Manager your key responsibilities will be to lead the development and implementation of ambitious medium term strategies in accordance with the overall Business Area objectives. In addition you’ll monitor the local competitive environment to identify business threats and opportunities and develop business strategies amp plans to address them.
Your responsibility is also to establish and oversee budgets plans policies and programs that will effectively implement the business strategies and objectives set together with the Business Area. Furthermore you will direct and support the ongoing development of employees and organisation in line with present and future business needs thereby ensuring employability and utilization of the potential of individuals and groups.
Finally you will have to establish positive relationships with external parties authorities industry customers and suppliers in order to enhance the corporate image and making Novo Nordisk the preferred partner.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a University degree in PharmacyBusiness administration MarketingFinance and a Master in Business desired.

The ideal candidate would have
- Min 12 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry or related industry like medical devices or healthcare industry
- Minimum 5 years in two or more of the following functions sales marketing business development or finance
- Minimum 5 years in a people management position Proven ability to manage and lead a teamorganisation
- Knowledge of Algerian business amp regulatory environment would be an advantage
- Should be proficient in French amp English
