The Research Grants
and Contracts Manager is overall responsible for the Research Grants &
Contracts Of at QBRI and for providing efficient and effective management of
QBRI overall Research Grant & Contracts portfolio to ensure achievement
of QBRI strategic objectives. The Manager
supervises and monitors the execution
and management of External funding Grants, QBRI extramural and Partnerships
projects and programs. The Manager identifies and addresses Grant and funding
opportunities. The incumbent will support QBRI investigators, scientists and
management in the preparation, submission, review and monitoring of research
grants. He/she administers and manages the awards from inception to closeout
through grant management processes and practices. He/she reviews and evaluates
Grant projects reporting progress and financial plans with funding bodies
whether internal or external. He/she collaborates with the operating groups
within QBRI, QF R & ❑ and QF, legal, finance, research, IP Office,
ethical committees, and funding agencies. He/she works closely with senior
management and departments' heads, to ensure that the Research Grant portfolio
meets Institution Key Performance Indicators and can make a positive impact for
the Qatar Biomedical Research Institute and for the State of Qatar.
Key Result Areas:
1.1 Develop, plan, and execute policies, and procedures for QBRI Research Grant & Contracts Office, funding administration and management, of Sponsored Grants, QBRI extramural and Partnerships projects and programs, to ensure achievement of QBRI strategic objectives in support of its mission statement and vision.
1.2 Provide QBRI management and financial policies to guide research grants operations and ensure that all grants and related contracts are well administered and implemented in accordance with the relevant funding agency, QBRI and QF regulations, procedures, and requirements.
1.3 Serve as the focal point on Research Grants, Contracts & Agreements execution and management as well as questions related to Institution and donors policies and guidelines. Act as liaison between, PIs, Collaborators at the National and International level, and funding agencies
1.4 Contribute to Risk Management activities for QBRI's on-going Grant research work and Track/identify Grant & Contract compliance gaps and suggests related solutions to QBRI ED and Senior Staff.
1.5 Contribute to Grant audit review activities and ensure timely closure of audit recommendations related to donor compliance.
