Under supervision of the Livelihood
Program Manager, the Community Mobilization Officer is responsible for
overseeing the delivery of the UNWOMEN project in collaboration with selected
CBOs and cooperatives in North Jordan. This includes supporting beneficiaries
selection and mobilization to attend workshops and training as well as CBOs
Capacity Assessment data collection and providing support to AWO trainers in
gender, women and leadership trainings as well as monitoring and following up beneficiaries
to ensure the achievement of project outcomes and objectives. He/she is also
responsible for periodic data collection for project documentation.
1. Community Mobilization in target areas
- The Community Mobilization Officer is responsible for information gathering in the field from CBOs, vulnerable refugee and Jordanian households and supporting the organization of technical training in the community with specific duties:
- Establish and maintain good working relations with community members and project beneficiaries in the project area.
2. Assist the Project Manager in all project activities to ensure the successful implementation of the project
3. Assess CBOs capacities and contribute to their strengthening
4. Oversee CBO volunteers and maintain regular contact with CBOs and other local stakeholders to ensure regular and clear communication lines
5. Contribute to the identification of gender sensitive CBO that would provide a strong foundation for successful trainings, workshops and mentoring programs
6. Form training groups that will successfully take part in the activities throughout the project
7. Provide support to AWO technical trainers during training.
2. Monitoring activities
8. Regular field visits in target areas to track the progress of beneficiaries
9. Collect beneficiary complaints and feedback on project and trainings, and other issues/ irregularities from the field both on HH level and within the community and provide beneficiaries and answer to their complaints and feedback
4. Regular communication
10. Participate in weekly team meetings to reach program decisions.
11. Attend regular Community meetings in the areas targeted.
12. Coordinate with other programs that may be complementary or synergistic.
13. Establish good and regular communication with project beneficiaries, ACTED partners and various service providers.
14. Establish good communication and coordination with all ACTED departments (WASH, AME, Social Mobilization, data entry) and project staff Other:
15. Strictly follow ACTED internal procedures and guidelines.
6. Reporting
16. Community mobiliser is responsible for preparing accurate, honest, and timely reports of their individual activities. In particular this includes maintaining signed records of the engagement and activities with the community.
17. Community Mobilizer is also encouraged to prepare written reports of the results of their activities, assessments and observations.
