NRC is implementing a
school expansion project in public schools in Irbid governorate. The project is
aimed at increasing the capacity of public schools through building new
classrooms and sanitary facilities.
The Shelter Officer/WASH will work as part of NRC's school construction team in designing and implementing WASH projects. The Shelter Officer/WASH will also be responsible for reviewing and inspecting mechanical and electrical works in NRC's school construction projects

Generic responsibilities (max 10)

• Provides CC technical support in implementation activities.
• Monitors the progress of the activities of assigned staff and ensures they are implemented. Conform planning and quality standards.
• Ensures compliance with NRC policies CC tools, handbooks and guidelines.
• Suggests new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities that meets the needs of beneficiaries.
• Identify, analyze and evaluate processes and gaps in the implementation of activities and make recommendations for improvement.
• Reports over the achieved activities, provides analysis over the performed activities and signal bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with relevant local authorities and/or stakeholders

Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of program intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. The line manager drafts the specific responsibilities and sends them to his/her line manager for approval.
• Prepare and review technical designs, drawings, BoQ's and specifications for mechanical and electrical works in school construction projects
• Monitor contractors implementing mechanical and electrical works in NRC's school construction
• Support the school construction PM/PC in planning and implementing WASH interventions
• In line with NRC's technical selection criteria, make technical assessments of public schools.
• Conduct market assessments and studies
