Able to identify all types of Fire Protection systems as well as their operations including correct fire extinguishers and their color codes for varying applications, fire hoses, automatic sprinkler systems, fire detection systems, wet chemical system etc. Perform routine testing and servicing of fire protection and fighting systems and equipment to the specifications of the manufacturer, client and of Companies maintenance procedures. Apply compliance requirements to service operations. Conduct inspections and record results. Conduct test and record results. Conduct preventative maintenance and record results.
• Individuals working as CCTV technicians must have experience troubleshooting, assembling, disassembling, repairing and monitoring alarm system hardware and electronic devices such as smoke alarms, video cameras, remote controls, audio surveillance equipment and television monitors.
• CCTV technicians are sometimes required to have a formal education or in the field of electronic services, such as three year diploma in electronics and communication or a two year technical certificate atleast.
The Security Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining Security systems, Access and Attendance systems, safety systems, Fire and Evacuation systems, building management systems, Satellite systems.
SCOPE
The Security Technician reports to the Senior Administrative Officer and provides hardware
and software maintenance, CCTV, SMATV, Voice Evacuation, Sound PA-PGM systems, Access Control, BMS implementation. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Troubleshoot hardware, software of all mentioned systems above
• Be familiar with all hardware and software
• Be familiar with network operating system
• Provide individual training and support on request
• Provide recommendations about accessing security and support
• Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
• Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
• Troubleshoot all technology issues
• Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
• Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
• Research current and potential resources and services
• Connect and set up hardware
• Load all required software
• Monitor security of all technology
• Install and maintain Foolproof and passwords
• Input and maintain IP addresses
• Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
• Ensure installation of lock out programs
• Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
• Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
• Perform other related duties as required during working hours
